I'm trying to register on computershare.com to buy stocks but every time I try to register it asks me for an account validation of my holdings but I do not have any holdings.

I could be wrong about this, but I think it may be that you have to buy one share through a broker before registering it with computershare and getting an account with them. I had one share of coca cola stock that I just sold recently (long story not worth telling) that I bought in about 1999, and back then, I had to go to a local discount broker, buy the share, and register it electronically with computershare in order to use their site and participate in the DRIP (dividend reinvestment program).
