Need help with some Jurnal entries for the month of march?
Ok so I am getting a monitor soon and i have a couple questions. I am only going to be using it to play videos on and watch dvds and stuff rom a tablet. 1. Can i hook up a Wii to it? 2. Do you need a mouse to control a monitor? 3. Will the monitor work by it self or does it need a Multimidea box center thing? 4. Can you go on the internet with it?
1) It depends on the input(s) the monitor has. Normally no; as monitors generally only have VGA/DVI inputs, however if you've got hold of one that happens to have Composite / Component inputs than you may be in luck; also it may be possible (not entirely sure) to find a Composite -> VGA adapter... but don't hold me on that :) 2) You'd use a mouse to control a PC that you connect to the monitor. As a monitor wont have any receivers of its own all you'll see through it are external sources such as a PC (well your tablet in this case). Given that you current use touch to work with your tablet, the necessity of a mouse would depend on how you use the monitor; if you intend to duplicate your tablet's display then no; touch would still work fine (on your tablet's screen that is), however if you want to extend your desktop onto the new monitor than you will need a pointing device to move the mouse onto it (as monitors are rarely touch-enabled). 3) It'll need a source; so either your tablet pc, or another computer or device with a VGA/DVI Output. 4) Again it's only a monitor- it only displays what you put into it; so if your PC can go online, you can connect it to the monitor and have it display your PC's browser... but on it's own with no devices connected you'll get far beyond a black screen.
